Hampshire County Recycling Center

Hampshire County Recycling Center is open each Wednesday and Saturday, 8:00 am to 12 noon (except major holidays).

Additionally, From May to September, the center is open on Thursdays from 4 to 7 pm. There are also cardboard dumpsters located at the old Capon Bridge Middle School (Capon School Street, Capon Bridge), at Hometown Solutions (15951 Northwestern Pike, Augusta), and at T&S Market (216 Springfield Pike, Springfield). Cardboard must be flattened.

Located on Kerr Drive west of Augusta, the Center was constructed in 2017 and is operated by the Hampshire County Commission, with funds from WV REAP grants covering most salaries, operating expenses and improvements.

All materials dropped off should be clean and dry.

Volunteers with Hampshire Recycling Cooperative collect and haul the following items: Cans – Aluminum cans, steel cans, cat food cans, (aluminum with a white liner) Clean aluminum foil, pie plates, baking pans, etc. Small miscellaneous metals, such as copper pipe, faucets, nuts & bolts.

 Glass bottles and jars are ground into sand on-site (any plastic or metal labels or rings must be removed)

Film plastic, #2 & 4, such as grocery store bags, bread bags, etc. goes to Trex (NexTrex.com).

 

NOTE: We have 30 lb. bags of sand available to the public for a small donation to HRC.
